Hearing Care for Bowie, TX

We are not in Bowie. We are about fifty minutes north up US-287, and a good number of Bowie folks make that drive rather than the longer one south.

The drive, honestly

Bowie to our Kell East Blvd office is a straight run north on US-287 — divided highway effectively the whole way, no town driving until you reach Wichita Falls. Figure around fifty minutes door to door, a little less if you are coming from the north side of Bowie.

That is worth stating plainly because the alternative for a lot of Bowie residents is heading south toward Denton or the Metroplex, which is further, busier, and usually more expensive. If you are weighing the two, the drive north is the shorter one.

Our office is on the south-east side of Wichita Falls, so you reach us before you get into cross-town traffic. Parking is at the door and on one level.

Making one trip do the work of three

The thing that makes an hour-long drive frustrating is arriving for a twenty-minute appointment and being told to come back next week. When you book, tell us you are driving in from Bowie and we will plan around it.

Test and results the same visit

You do not leave and come back for the audiogram to be explained. We go through it with you before you go.

Repairs while you wait where possible

Describe the fault when you call and we can have the right receivers and parts on the bench before you arrive.

Fitting and follow-up stacked

Where it makes clinical sense we combine appointments rather than spreading them across separate trips.

Adjustments handled remotely

Most current hearing aids can be fine-tuned remotely through the manufacturer app, so a tweak does not mean US-287 again.

What Bowie patients most often come for

Two things, mostly. The first is a proper diagnostic hearing test — not a screening at a booth, but a full evaluation that establishes the type and shape of the loss and whether any of it is the reversible kind. The second is repair work on hearing aids bought elsewhere, often from someone who no longer services them or is no longer in business.

You do not need to have bought your hearing aids from us to have them serviced here, and you do not need a referral to be seen.

When Bowie is not the right trip

If your hearing dropped suddenly in one ear, do not drive to us — see a physician in Bowie the same day. Sudden sensorineural hearing loss is treated with steroids and the window is measured in days. The same goes for ear pain, drainage, or hearing loss after a head injury.

We would much rather you were seen locally and turned out to have a wax plug than make the drive and lose a week.

Common Questions

How far is Wichita Falls Hearing from Bowie?+
Roughly fifty minutes, almost entirely on US-287 north. Our office is on the south-east side of Wichita Falls, so you arrive before cross-town traffic.
Do you have an office in Bowie?+
No. Our clinics are in Wichita Falls and Vernon. We serve Bowie patients who drive in, and we plan appointments around the fact that you are travelling.
Can you service hearing aids I bought somewhere else?+
Yes, all major brands, regardless of where they were purchased. This is a large part of why people drive in from Bowie — the practice that sold them is often no longer servicing them.
Will I need to come back multiple times?+
Fewer times than you might expect. Tell us you are travelling when you book and we will combine what can sensibly be combined. Most fine-tuning after a fitting can be done remotely through the manufacturer app rather than in person.
Do I need a referral?+
No. You can book an adult hearing evaluation directly.
