Starkey Hearing Aids — Common Questions

What patients ask us most before choosing Starkey.

How long do Starkey hearing aids last?+
Most Starkey hearing aids last 5 to 7 years with proper care and routine maintenance. The internal electronics typically outlive the cosmetic and battery components, which is why we offer cleaning, retubing, and microphone replacement at our Wichita Falls clinic to extend useful life. After 5+ years, the bigger driver to upgrade is usually new platform technology rather than device failure.
Does insurance cover Starkey hearing aids?+
Many plans do. We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), accept Federal Employees Program (FEP) benefits, and work with most Medicare Advantage hearing aid benefits. Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover hearing aids of any brand. We verify your specific benefits before your appointment so you know exactly what is covered.
Where can I get Starkey hearing aids serviced in Wichita Falls?+
Our on-site repair lab at 2327 Kell East Blvd handles most Starkey cleanings, programming adjustments, dome and wax-guard changes, and microphone replacements during your visit. For repairs that require the manufacturer, we ship out same-day and provide a loaner when possible. Patients in Vernon, Quanah, and the surrounding area can also bring Starkey devices to our Tuesday clinic at 1918 Pease Street.
How does Starkey compare to other hearing aid brands?+
Starkey is one of the six major hearing aid manufacturers we fit at Wichita Falls Hearing — alongside Phonak, Oticon, Starkey, Signia, Widex, and ReSound. Each brand has a distinct sound philosophy and feature set. Rather than recommending one brand to everyone, we match the brand to your specific hearing profile, lifestyle, and connectivity needs at your free evaluation. Bring your audiogram if you have one from another provider.
Can I try Starkey hearing aids before I commit?+
Yes. Every hearing aid we fit comes with a real-world trial period — you wear them in your home, at work, in restaurants, with family — before final commitment. If the fit or performance is not right, we adjust the programming or try a different model. Our goal is a result you are confident about, not a quick sale.
